My turf is a young lawn; having been installed just 3 years ago by the builder. As we entered into the 2016 winter season, I noticed that a large portion of my lawn was prematurely browning, when compared to my neighboring lawns. I knew that I was going to need help …
I used both Google and Yelp to find a reputable lawn care company in my area. I certainly found at least a dozen, but Happy Roots was always the highest recommendation. I called Happy Roots and was disappointed to learn that they had ‘booked out’ for the season and that they were taking names on a waiting list for summer 2017. I continued to call other lawn care providers in my area and was either told that they were “too busy” or that I was outside of their coverage area and to call Happy Roots. As I struggled with the idea of how I was going to manage my 5,000 sqf. DEAD lawn on my own, I felt overwhelmed. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call from Rebecca in the office at Happy Roots. After meeting with Happy Roots’ team, we determined that the front yard of my home had died due to mites and that my backyard could be salvaged.
Happy Roots moved forward with removal of the front lawn and subsequently hydro-seeded the area. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, the Denver Metro Area received record amounts of rain (literally) in the days to follow. This much appreciated moisture, washed the seeded area out into the gutter and down the street. Happy Roots made good on their promise and commitment after we confirmed that the seed had been lost. Les, the owner of Happy Roots, came out and personally assessed the area and had his crew back out the following week to re-seed. I am happy to report that my front lawn looks MUCH healthier now and I am no longer ashamed of its appearance. I also feel like my lawn is more resilient and doesn’t have to be babied through the growing season. I will add that my City of Brighton Water Bill went from $500 per month in summer 2016 to $200 per month in summer 2017. Also, if you struggle with weeds and lawn growing into your rock beds, Happy Roots addresses those concerns as well through regularly scheduled maintenance.
My backyard grew so quickly that in areas it reached my daughter’s knees and in others, my wife’s. Rebecca in the front office is ALWAYS a friendly and warm voice to greet you when you call. If you choose to email, Rebecca always replies within 24 hours in my experience.

We are so happy with Happy Roots! They are reliable, affordable, and knowledgeable. They have done repairs on our sprinkler system and have always been fast and reasonably priced. Les also takes the extra time to help us learn about running and maintaining our sprinkler system ourselves. We love their option for fertilizing on a schedule. We sign up for the plan we want and they show up and do the service at the appropriate time in the season and then just bill our credit card on file. SO convenient!
