Our pre-emergent applications are applied in mid to late march, then again in June. The pre-emergent will help control summer annual weeds and grasses. The most common control is directed towards crab and goose grass. The pre-emergent will not control perennial weeds like dandelions, thistle, bindweed etc. Those weeds have to be sprayed while they are actively growing to kill the roots, and sometimes multiple times. Our pre-emergent is applied granularly with fertilizer. The cost is $15-$20 in addition to the cost of the fertilizer which is typically $30-$40 depending on the size of your yard. So an average lawn would cost $50 for the fertilizer/pre-emergent combo.
